Bellew confident of title victory
Liverpool light-heavyweight Tony Bellew is predicting an explosive finish when he faces Ghana's Atoli Moore for the vacant Commonwealth title.The two unbeaten fighters will meet at the Liverpool Echo Arena on 12 March.
"When I nail him for the first time he's going to get the shock of his life," he told BBC Radio Merseyside.
"It could end in one round. It could be quick. It could be long I really don't know. I'll see what he's got but I'm predicting an early night."
Bellew, a former three-time ABA champion at heavyweight, is confident of beating Moore to take his maiden professional title.
His belief is reinforced by a 12-fight winning streak, which includes eight victories by knock-out, but he maintains he is in no danger of underestimating his African opponent.
"He's boxed at international level as an amateur, he's been to the Commonwealth Games," said Bellew.
"He's a good, tough, strong Ghanaian from Accra, they produce some fantastic fighters as in Ike Quartey.
"He's going to be dangerous and he's going to be well prepared."
Bellew has found it difficult to get matched for this fight, with a succession of proposed bouts failing to materialise.
"It's just the way it goes. I think they think I'm superman," he said.
"I'm just a normal guy with two arms and two legs, the only difference is I work so much harder than everybody else.
"I'm going to keep this title and whoever wants to fight me the door's wide open."
Bellew will be joined on his ring walk for the Moore fight by Merseyside boxing legend John Conteh.
"John's a hero and he's probably one of the greatest fighters this country has ever produced," he said.
"He's a legend and anything he doesn't know about boxing isn't worth knowing."
