Maccarinelli aims to tame Pitbull

Former world champion Enzo Maccarinelli continues his comeback on Friday night when he faces Zoltan Czekus, nicknamed Pitbull, at Liverpool's Echo Arena.The Swansea cruiserweight returned to winning ways in December with a first-round stoppage of Krisztian Jaksi. Now ex-WBO champion Maccarinelli, 29, faces his second Hungarian in a row. Fellow Welshman and nephew Tobias Webb will also fight on the undercard of Paul Smith's British super-middleweight title defence against Tony Dodson. Up-and-coming Swansea 21-year-old Webb faces rival super-middleweight Lee Duncan in his fourth professional fight, the contest scheduled to last four rounds. Maccarinelli still has a formidable 30-4 (with 23 KOs) record, while Czekus is 8-2-1. Chief support to the Smith-Dodson fight is Kell Brook's challenge for the WBO intercontinental title against Poland's Krzystof Bienias. Also on the Liverpool undercard is Tony Bellew against Atoli Moore of Ghana for the vacant Commonwealth light-heavyweight title. Other Welsh interest at the Echo Arena is Merthyr super-featherweight Jason Thomas' eight-rounder against local boy Stephen Smith, the former Commonwealth Games gold medallist who is 9-0 in his professional career.
