Munroe grinds out win
Boxing binman Rendall Munroe made a winning return following his unsuccessful world title challenge last year with a unanimous decision win over Andrei Isaeu in Manchester.
The Leicester fans' favourite fell short against WBC super-bantamweight champion Toshiaki Nishioka in Japan in October and was looking to shake off the ring rust this evening.
Munroe needed the full 12 rounds to do so at the MEN Arena, though, grinding out the win over dogged Belarusian Isaeu with scores of 115-114, 116-112 and 117-112.
Munroe nominally won the WBA international super-bantamweight belt, which means little save for currying favour with that governing body and their rankings compilers.
Also on the undercard of Amir Khan's WBA light-welterweight title defence against Paul McCloskey, Craig Watson lost his British welterweight title to Lee Purdy after being dropped and stopped in round five.
